"Cara has managed to...create a character that is both mythical and life-like. Impulsive, moody, and yet kind and good-hearted, Caspian is just beginning to show the makings of a true leader."

Alright, let's avoid fighting among ourselves. Save those irritations for the battlefield.

THREAD OF THE MONTH NOMINATIONS

This month we’ve decided to add another award to the ones we usually do. The difference with this one is that you, the members, will both nominate and vote on this award.

We are looking for an awesome thread that deserves to have the spotlight for a month. That thread you just can’t stop reading. The requirements that a thread must meet in order for you to nominate it are as follows:

- Plot threads (such as The Catalyst) may not be nominated. Because these are so important, we’d hope people are at least trying to read and keep up on them anyway. Because they’re rather on the front lines, so to speak, we don’t really need them having an additional spotlight.
- The thread must have a minimum of five replies, before it can be nominated. In other words, the thread must be going somewhere. We would also prefer that those five replies were not made up of a sentence or two each. A paragraph per post, please.
- If you nominate a thread, you must have a reason for doing so. It could be that it moves some sort of relationship forward (where that be love interests, friendships, allies, enemies, etc), it could be that it’s just plain interesting, or incredibly well written, or funny, etc. Just so long as you have a solid reason for nominating and can put it down in words.
- You may nominate threads that you are in, so long as there is another player in them with you.

**Note: Threads do not have to be from this month. They can be from any point, so long as all characters involved are still active.

If your thread of choice meets those requirements, then you’re set to nominate.

If we don’t receive at least two nominations, we will not run the contest that month. Please take the code located here and post it as a reply to this thread to put in your nominations. Nominations begin now, and will run until the evening of Saturday January 2nd. Please get those in as quick as you can!

The code to nominate is as follows:

Code:
[b]Thread Title and Link:[/b] [url=LINK TO THREAD]THREAD TITLE[/url]
[b]Characters Involved in Thread:[/b] [url=LINK TO CHARACTER APP]CHARACTER NAME[/url], [url=LINK TO CHARACTER APP]CHARACTER NAME[/url]
[b]Favourite Line/Quote From Thread:[/b]

Thread Title and Link: fall in line
Characters Involved in Thread: REEPICHEEP, SWIFTSHADOW
Favourite Line/Quote From Thread: “Aslan.  The name came to Reepicheep with the feeling of a rapier butt thrust into his abdomen, and the breath was forced from his lungs with the appropriate pain... He remembered suddenly how small he was, and felt it acutely before the solemn stone image. Bowing his head, he bent low to the Lion, closing his eyes for a moment to take in the inexplicable feeling overwhelming him.”
Reason for Nominating: I absolutely love this thread. Both Reepicheep and Swiftshadow are loyal Narnians, they’re both fighting for the same cause. And yet their reactions to the situations at hand, their faiths, are significantly different. The two of them paint a good picture of what the whole camp must be like at this point in the blossoming war – there are those who believe in Aslan, those who don’t. (I’m not painting either of these characters in either role, just... rambling. xD) Those who think he’s going to come, and those who don’t. There are many who are there because they want revenge, many who want to take back what is theirs, some who are doing it because they think it is what is right or just. The Old Narnians are all driven by different motivations and have varying levels of faith in Aslan, and in whether or not they’re actually going to succeed. It’s interesting to see this pair; the camp isn’t all on the same wavelength here and it’s awesome to see the bickering even among the “good” side. That’s what’s would have been happening, without a doubt.

Thread Title and Link: A Mixed Reunion
Characters Involved in Thread: LORD DRINIAN, PRINCE CASPIAN
Favourite Line/Quote From Thread: "You say, my lord, that you cannot go back. But that is unwise; you must go back. But not to Miraz's Narnia, not to Miraz's Telmar. To your own. You are the rightful heir, and we are forced to stand behind Miraz as King because we have no alternative." He lowered his voice. "Because you left us." Clasping the prince's hand, he said fervently, "Stand with this army and stand for Telmar, march under the flag, and fight for your country as well as theirs, and you shall have the true of heart join you in the fight."
Reason for Nominating: First of all, Drinian and Caspian's friendship is wonderfully heartwarming and believable. Also, this thread also spawned a couple of new dimensions to the plot, with the vial and Drinian's plan.  Finally, it shows that the allegiances in this conflict -- on both sides -- are not completely cut and dried.  Caspian, after all, is fighting against his own people, and that only started because his own uncle tried to kill him. Drinian is conflicted, trying to do what is best for his land and people, but also staying true to his allegiance to his friend. We have some really interesting characters here, with some complex motivations. This thread showcases two of these characters really well.
