About You
Name: Liz
Age: 20
How did you find us: I... don't remember... Ah! RPG-D <3
Rules Password: [Password Accepted ~Cara]

Character Basics
Full Name: Edmund Pevenie
Alias(es)/Nickname(s): Ed
Gender: Male
Age: 12
Species: Human
Status/Title: King Edmund the Just/King of Narnia, Duke of Lantern Waste, Count of the Western March, Knight of the Noble Order of the Table
Affiliation: Narnia

Character Appearance
Hair/Fur/Feathers: Short, messy, dark brown hair.
Eyes: Light coffee and cream brown.
Overall: Rather tall and gangly for a twelve year old, Edmund looks quite older than he really is. His dark chocolate brown hair seems never to be neat or tidy by any standards, but a boy of adventure cannot be bothered with such a trivial thing like his appearance. Unlike his three blue-eyed silblings, Edmund has warm, light brown eyes. He'd like to think of them as sort of a dark shade of a lion's mane, which normal people refer to as wishful thinking. Like his siblings, though, his skin is pale which makes the dusting of freckles on his face certainly pop.

While he prefers casual wear, he is almost always found in his school uniform, which he finds bothersome and uncomfortable. When possible, he happily discards his jacket, sweater vest, and too tight windsor knotted tie and unbuttons the rather constricting buttons nearest his neck. While it may not have been very casual, he loved the days in Narnia when he could wear his robes and chain mail, preferring a crown to a hat and a sword to school books.

Portrayal: Skandar Keynes

- Having to be a kid after having been an adult. (And a King, no less.)
- Sand in his shoes.
- Being awoken in the middle of the night.

General Personality:
While Edmund is physically twelve years old, much growing up occurred between the age of eleven and twelve, both physically, mentally, and... Well, every other which way possible. Once a spiteful little boy full of pain and anger and seemingly always looking for a way to hurt someone and further his own selfish ends... Well. Let's just say that nearly being killed while betraying your family gives one reason to take a long, hard look at oneself.

Family is a most important part of Ed's life. He loves them, he hates them, he's loyal to them and knows they will always be there when he needs them, and he would also do anything for them, even if it puts himself in harms way. Lucy is by far his favorite sibling, although he isn't quite sure if that's because she's the nicest or if he feels an obligation to her after the way he treated her when she first found Narnia. Peter is not only his older brother, but the High King and because of that, he loves him and he will always follow him, but Peter has developed a temper. Edmund can't stand him when he gets into a mood and he always seems to think he's in the right. He constantly feels undermined and belittled by his big brother as they all struggle to get used to not being adults anymore, not being Kings and Queens.

Despite his best efforts, Edmund still has problems concerning pride. Though he has quite lost the need to be all important and knowing, he still takes pleasure during those rare moments when he outshines Peter, which have been more frequent as of late as Peter's pride has been getting worse as Ed's lessens. His mouth, also, tends to open without warning as if he just has to put his two cents into the pot. Most of this is because he knows he's in Peter's shadow. He always has been. At least, before he became a King and then after he went home. Many times, he would have liked to just smack his brother down. But he is his brother. And as such, Edmund will follow him and be there if his pride gets the best of him.

Sword play is perhaps Ed's greatest strength and most loved past time. Next to chess, of course. Even a year at home couldn't erase fifteen years of training and battle. When the time comes, he is quick on his feet and in his head, easy to improvise if something doesn't quite go to plan. He's learned to control his anger, which is probably why he hasn't gone and smacked Peter when he goes and makes an arse of himself.

Character History
Family:
Parents: Mr. Pevensie (Father), Mrs. Helen Pevensie (Mother)
Siblings: Peter (Older brother), Susan (Older sister), Lucy (Younger sister)

General History:
Edmund was born in 1930, the third child of the Pevensie family, soon to be four in 1932. Being a middle child was quite unnerving and he never felt like there was anything special about him. Peter was the oldest, so his parents expected things of him. Susan was the smartest. Lucy was the youngest, which of course meant that she got whatever she wanted, or so Edmund thought. Ed was just... There. He wasn't promising. He wasn't smart. And he wasn't grossly adorable. After a while, he felt like he was expected to be as good as Peter.

When the war began and their father was called away to the army, Ed began to resent Peter more and more as he seemed to take it upon himself to be the father. He hated to be scolded and looked down on like a little kid by his brother, who was a child himself. He made it a point to make the most of moments where he could appear to be better than his siblings, especially Peter. All he got for his trouble were more condescending and patronizing remarks. He needed something to make himself stand out and prove that he was better than Peter.

Shortly thereafter, air raids began all over in England and he and his brother and sisters were evacuated to the country side where the war had not yet reached. He hated to go, hated to be staying with someone he didn't even know, hated to have to follow more rules, including the ones implied just by being a guest, and he absolutely hated that Peter would have even more reign over him. Curiously, not long after reaching Professor Kirke's house, it was Lucy who began to take the spotlight, going on about some madness that was a country inside of a wardrobe. Narnia or some silliness. Somehow, it made him feel older and more important when he sided with Peter and Susan against her and the existence of her fantasy. Even more so when he poked fun at her, but this just gave Peter more of a reason to pull authority on him.

One evening, Edmund followed Lucy when she snuck into the wardrobe (foolishly closing the door behind him) and soon found that she wasn't mad at all! There really was a wood covered in snow and a strange lamp post. Only Lucy had been there several minutes longer than he had, for time in Narnia moves faster than our time, and she had long since gone. Instead, he was found by a woman on a sledge, the Queen of Narnia, who seemed very interested in him. She gave him the most delicious Turkish Delight he'd ever tasted and made him promises of gradeur. She said he'd be her Prince, to be King when she was gone and that his brother and sisters would be his subjects. Finally, he would be above Peter! He could boss him around for a change!

When Ed did meet up with Lucy, she may have mentioned something about an evil White Witch claiming to be the rightful Queen of Narnia, but he honestly didn't care. What mattered was that Peter and Susan would believe Lucy before they even stopped to hear what he had to say. So, when they went back, he denied knowing anything about the country being real and pretended that he'd just been playing along. This only prompted more scolding from Peter.

Soon after, they all went into Narnia. Edmund's greed to have control and seniority over Peter and his hunger for more Turkish Delight led him to betray his family. By the time he realized his mistake, it was too late. He was quite embarrassed and very humbled when it was they that saved him. It was then he began to follow Peter and stood next to him in battle against the White Witch. His resentment became trust and loyalty to the High King and the country they would rule.

Fifteen years, many battle, countless memories, and bountiful friends later, there came a quest. The hunt for the White Stag. The Kings and Queens had been chasing the myth for years, for it was said that the Stag would grant wishes if caught. It was on that day, galloping through Lantern Waste, that they came across a strange thing. A lamp post in the middle of the wood. This led them to find coats and soon, the four fell from a wardrobe. Ed had thought it strange that they had seemed to have forgotten all about the wardrobe, but it didn't matter. They were home. He was a kid again. And it seemed that the door to their beloved kingdom was closed to them.

Though he was once again a child, Ed couldn't help but still feel grown up. His entire attitude and personality had changed. He did seem to get on better than Peter, though. For a year, it seemed more and more that they were switching places, except that Ed wasn't yelling at him everytime he slipped up. Still, life went on as usual and Ed thought that maybe that's what got to Pete. It got to him, too, but he wasn't so open about it. He had been a King. Now... He was just a kid. And he had to go to school. He had to grow up all over again. It was rather depressing. And the angrier Peter seemed to get, the more Ed lost faith that they would ever return to Narnia.

Aslan had other plans.

The station was crowded with students. Ed felt like he was being shut inside a box of bodies and was grateful to get a gulp of air when he sat on the bench his sisters had somehow managed to snag for them while they waited for the train. He sighed and rested his head against the brick wall behind him, letting his shoulders slump as he tried to relax. He couldn't believe it had been a year. Sometimes, with the way Susan spoke, it seemed like it had all been a game. A vivid imagination. Just for fun. Sometimes, he thought it might just be easier if he accepted that.

Somehow, it was when he looked at Lucy that it quelled all his doubts. She always believed, no matter what. He had no doubt that she always would. It helped remembering that it was she who first discovered it all. Besides... How could you play out fifteen years in a few moments? He smirked. Susan seemed to be less logical than usual. As the Professor would say, 'What do the schools teach these children?'

Someone bumped against him on their way down to meet up with a friend. Ed certainly hoped he made some of those this year. He love his brother and sisters, really, he did, but he felt much like an anti-social hermit, always being around them. He felt like he had no other friends. That needed to change most definitely.

He jumped and glared at Lucy when she pinched him, but she was sitting with her hands folded neatly in her lap, watching the students with such interest, there was no way she could be faking it. Frowning, he glanced away. Peter sat between him and their youngest sister. And he was pinched again. "OW!" he cried this time, rather loudly, drawing more than a few stares. He stood, glaring at Peter this time, but soon, the four of them were standing, being pinched.

Then he recognized what was happening. Magic.
