Alias(es)/Nickname(s): Ray (only used by those very close to her)
Gender: Female
Age: 6
Species: Tigress
Status/Title: Tracker, Huntress
Affiliation: Narnia
Character AppearanceHair/Fur/Feathers: white/gray with black stripes
Eyes: Her eyes are pale sea green when relaxing but they shift to more of an aqua blue when Raya is on the prowl or in combat.
Overall: 11 feet long from the tip of her nose to the base of her tail, 16 feet including the length of her tail, and weighing in at 655 pounds that consist mostly of muscle bulk; Raya can be an intimidating figure to many. The gloss of her coat, the gleam of her eyes, and the surprising amount of speed, dexterity, and stamina she displays for one of her bulk are all evident signs that she is in the prime of her life. Her fur is primarily white on the underbelly and paws but blends into an almost blue gray tone on her wide snout and around her pure-black stripes. Raya is a fastidious cleaner and this is evident in the generally pristine condition of her fur. Whether walking, swimming, prowling, or even sprinting; she displays an almost lethargic flowing grace and never seems to move erratically or in a rushed manner.

General Personality: Raya is a very even-keeled tigress of exceptionally moderate temperament. Even her slow, sonorous, speech and casually graceful movements display this. Insults simply roll off of her powerfully-built shoulders and even physical pain, short of something excruciating, she deals with in a calm and collected manner. As such, she is very easy to get along with and finds it equally smooth to befriend most others.
The down side to this? Raya rarely acknowledges the fact that not everyone has as thick a hide as she… emotionally
or physically. The concept of curbing her tongue or pulling her punches, or rather swats, is a foreign one to the enormous feline. As such, she often hurts those she cares most about, whether it is through a tactless comment or a bone-breaking tackle. The irony being that, while she is totally perplexed and oblivious to such occurrences when
she is the perpetrator, Raya is quite adept at perceiving when her friends, family, and allies are being assaulted in one sense or another by
others. While even then she rarely becomes angered, she will go to extreme lengths to protect her loved ones; if that entails making a meal out of their victimizer, then so be it.
Because what Raya kills, she eats. To take a life and leave the cold, dead, body behind feels utterly wrong to her at a deep and instinctual level. As such, not only does she avoid killing for reasons other than food unless there is absolutely no other alternative but when those rare instances
do occur, Raya will devour the carcasses of her foes even if that was not the initial purpose of killing them. The only time in which the tigress might resist such an urge is in a large-scale battle in which it would not be feasible. However, it would still nag at her in a frustrating manner.
The only circumstance under which it is common to find Raya in a volatile or foul mood is when she is trying to sleep. Her naps are very important to her and anyone who’s actions either keep her from drifting off or awake her suddenly and earlier than she planned will feel her blood-seeking wrath at worst or her harsh and dangerous irritability at best.
Born after the Telmarines had already established control in Narnia, Raya grew up having to hide, fear, and hate humans although her parents did constantly regale her with tales of the Kings and Queens of Old, those earlier Sons and Daughters of Adam and Eve who were so much nobler than any she had ever encountered. As such, while she would be awestruck to the point of abject loyalty with the return of the Pevensies on a level akin to the reappearance of Aslan, she cannot seem to find it in herself to trust any other humans… not even Prince Caspian.
Character HistoryFamily:Rowan Thickfur (father)
Arora Blackclaw (mother)
General History: Because of the Telmarines, Raya was raised in the deepest regions of the wild where the “civilized” humans rarely ever ventured. Though her and her parents did not devolve to the mute state that many other inhabitants of Narnia had, she did get back to the roots of her people in many ways. They were predators, able to hunt and kill not only smaller prey but also beings of considerably larger girth and consume them all and that was what they lived by. They hunted, they killed, they ate, and they slept for the most part. Beyond the simple necessities, with little interaction with others due to the secular and hidden lifestyle most of the still-talking animals of the country, including her own family, lived; Raya had to find pleasurable ways to entertain herself on her own.
Between the fact that one such activity which she was especially fond of was sunbathing and her generally warm and steady demeanor, Raya’s father granted her the moniker of being a “ray of sunshine” eventually merging with a shortening of her name simply to “ray”. Only her parents and most intimate friends refer to the tigress by that nickname however.
The second title Raya gained in her life was that of Pathstalker, due to her patient and uncanny ability to track any kind of prey across leagues without error. Having spent vastly more time with her parents than any other sapient beings, it was an odd disparity from their second names. Thickfur was a reference to Rowan’s durability against assault and Blackclaw attested to Arora’s swift, merciless, and deadly strikes; it was said that if you saw her claws then shortly after all you would ever see again was the blackness of oblivion. Finding herself defined by a less violent aspect of her nature in contrast to her mother and father allowed Raya to truly assume a role as her own unique and independent tigress for the first time.
With a feeling of euphoria and self-reliance at earning her own title, she embraced her newfound independence and ventured out from the hunting grounds she grew up in and which her parents still prowled. It was through traveling to mark her own territory that she became aware of the growing movement against the Telmarines. However, with Caspian leading them; Raya refuses to fully pledge herself to them. She does however want to no longer live her life in fear but rather support the efforts against her oppressors. As such, while she has not truly enlisted and will not stay in Caspian’s presence long, much less follow his orders, Raya more-or-less stays near the Narnian camp and often offers her services (to the other speaking-animals and fae creatures directly, not to the Prince) as a tracker and defender. She is also pleased to have found a setting in which so many of the Old Narnians congregate and interact, as opposed to hiding and keeping away from large or long gatherings out of fear of Telmarine discovery and persecution. While sunbathing, swimming, and grooming are still treasured activities; it is nice to now have so many others to socialize with on a regular basis.
Other/Notes: Can’t think of anything!
SampleRP Sample: Hovering lightly a few inches above the floor in a lotus position, Moondragon was in the deep meditation that she entered instead of sleeping each night. The apartment she resided in was maintained in such a manner so as to allow her unbroken concentration; the furnishings were few and in muted tones, she owned no electronic devices that might make unnecessary noises, and the landlord had been
instructed never to bother her just as it had been
suggested that he need not charge her rent.
However, the only mind Moondragon was currently interested in tampering with was her own. Submerged into the deepest layers of her own psyche, she strove tirelessly to remove or at least circumvent the wards placed there by the Elders of the Universe. She had been at this each night, all night, since the day she arrived on earth three weeks ago, yet she had made
no headway! Damn them and their sanctimonious judgments! How
dare they try to control and contain
her! She had single-handedly brought low the Dragon of the Moon and the world she had drawn into her sway had prospered and been better for it! Wise and powerful though they might be, the Elders had lost sight of pragmatism after eons of following outdated codes and rules. And they had the
gall to call
her arrogant!?! Twas only arrogance if one was not actually as superior as they believed.
With that burning thought used like a knife, Moondragon attacked the mental wards with renewed vigor. She deserved her power and because of who and what she was she would
take it! The barriers would crumble and then the universe would feel her wrath!
So caught up in the process was she, that it did not register how foreign a way of thinking and feeling that was to her. For while the blocks of the Elders might have stood strong, the self-ravishing of her mind had allowed for a
different and subconscious barrier to start to dissipate in Moondragon’s mind. Behind it? The consciousness of an old and powerful foe who she considered vanquished…
