"Cara has managed to...create a character that is both mythical and life-like. Impulsive, moody, and yet kind and good-hearted, Caspian is just beginning to show the makings of a true leader."

Alright, let's avoid fighting among ourselves. Save those irritations for the battlefield.

Below are the rules and guidelines of the site. Please read them before you do anything on the site, as all players are responsible for knowing the rules. Remember, this is not exactly the same as any of the other sites you have been on before, and what was allowed there may or may not be allowed here. Feel free to ask a staff member if you have any questions.

General Guidelines

    * Your display name must be set to your character's full, first or nick name. You are, however, free to register with a name other than your character name.

    * You may play as many characters as you can keep up with. If you are not able to do so, you may be asked to drop a character.

    * Please make a new account for every character you have, and set the display name appropriate to your character. Also, if you wish to have your accounts linked, please PM an administrator to do so.

    * Into Narnia is a PG-13 RPG. There is some violence, some profanity, some romance, but please keep the intensely graphic nature down.  Further, profanity is strongly discouraged in all OOC posting areas.

    * Spamming will not be tolerated. "Spam stands for Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages" (Urban Dictionary) Please make your posts count.

    * Advertising is restricted to the Advertising forum. If you want to affiliate with IN, pm an administrator. Otherwise, keep it out of the general forums. Exception: You may have one link in your signature to another roleplaying site. You may also use the website feature of your profile to accomplish this.

    * Please be respectful of the staff and other members here. This is a site for members of all ages, genders, race, and abilities. Please be aware of this and adjust your demeanor likewise. Harassment, threats, derogatory comments, racist/sexist/discriminatory comments and general disrespective behavior will not be tolerated. The first part of the password is: Space.

    * Respect each other's privacy. Posing as another person or hacking into their accounts, posting of private messages in public without permission of both parties, or any other action deemed to be an invasion of privacy is disrespectful, and will have consequences. On the flip side, protect your own privacy, and do NOT share your password with anybody. It's just not smart. People can access your account and do all sorts of weird stuff. You are free to give out as much personal information as you wish, but be aware of the dangers of doing so. Into Narnia is not responsible for any loss of identity that results from members divulging personal information on the site.

Roleplaying Guidelines

    * Please post regularly. We know people have lives, but remember that you made a commitment to post when you joined an RP thread. If you're going to be leaving for a certain time, please let people know by posting in the RP thread's OOC Roleplay Discussion topic or a separate announcement.

    * Into Narnia is an English-based game, and therefore, all RP posts must be written in English. Speech or thoughts may be written in another language, but it's polite to provide a translation either directly in the text, or noted at the end of the post. Also, please use formal language in your posts: no chat speak,  1337 speak, or needless abbreviations.

    * Quality first, then quantity: There are no word caps or word minimums for posts. We understand that these force users to artificially create posts to fit these limits, and that hampers RPing more than helps. However, Into Narnia is a game with a good literary base. As such, we would like to see posts of a good quantity being made, while still maintaining quality. A good rule of thumb would be to post as much as the person above you, and if you're starting the thread, to post more than you normally would for a reply. Another good guideline would be to make your posts at least a paragraph long. Any shorter, and your post probably isn't contributing much to the thread.

    * No power playing. In other words, never control another player's character or NPC without their permission. If you wish to include another character in your post, make sure that the character has already been posted performing that action/speaking/etc. or that you have the permission of the player to do so.  Further, please keep things open ended in your posts; do not force perceptions or actions on other characters. Your character may try to look cool, but not everyone will perceive him/her as such. Or they may try to convince others of something, but may not be successful. The second part of the password is: Ponies!

    * No god-modding. You may not make your characters invincible or all-powerful, in combat or at other times. Similarly, your character is not omniscient. They cannot read minds or feel other people's emotions. Your character can react to the other character's visible actions and appearance, speech, etc, but keep what you know and what your character knows separate. If you have any doubts or questions, feel free to PM the character's player.

    * Please make your character's intentions clear.  You may need to specify who your character is speaking to, and you may need to describe the tone of their voice or their facial expressions. Make sure the players know what your character means, even if their characters don't.

    * Death is a natural part of life, even in a roleplaying game. Your character can die in this game, but not likely without your permission. Permission is automatically granted when you enter in combat with another character, or perform a risky activity. If you enter into combat, you and the other player(s) are free to talk it out to decide the outcome, but you may also be faced with an outcome you don't like. If you enter combat, fight it out, make it enjoyable to read. Should any disputes arise, the staff will consider the roleplay and characters and decide the outcome.

    * Please be aware that you may be asked to edit your post by the staff or other players if you perform any godmodding, abuse, etc. You may also be asked to edit your post if you misinterpret or mis-state anything of another character. Please respect these requests, as players like their characters properly represented, and the staff would like to have you edit your own posts instead of forcing an edit on you.

    * Please keep OOC comments in roleplay threads short. If you must include OOC comments,  tag them with "OOC" or something so we know that they are not part of the RP. Please use the Plot Discussion forum or PMs for longer conversations.

    * "Open" vs. "Closed" Topics: You can use your topic title (or the "open" or "closed" message icons) to specify who may respond to an IC thread that you've created. "Open" means anyone may join in, while "Closed" means the topic is restricted to certain characters. Please do not post in a closed thread unless you've been invited. Typically, threads that do not specify that they're closed or that don't have specific characters' names in the topic title are open.

    * Use NPCs wisely. You may have as many of them as you wish, but remember that all of the rules listed above still apply to NPCs. In particular, please avoid using them to power play or god-mod.
