General Personality: Gavin is a bit of a loner sometimes. He tends to spend more time with his birds than people. Because of this, he can be a bit shy when meeting people. But once he warms up to people, he is not very shy. When he is not working with his birds, Gavin is not a very active person. He likes to just sit back and chat with people. He will, however, go hunting occasionally.

He is a very intellectual person and enjoys reading. He likes challenging riddles and puzzles. He likes to challenge others to figure out his riddles. He has a major sweet tooth and tends to hoard candies and such which he doesn't like to share. He is very protective of his friends and family. He is always ready to jump up and defend them no matter what.

Gavin has a bit of an anger issue. It doesn't take much to send him over the edge. He often says or does things that he later regrets after having an 'episode'. Fortunately, he never hesitates to apologize when he hurts someone. Unless, of course, he really despises the person he's hurt. It was probably intentional then. Even so, Gavin is a very simple person. He doesn't demand much and tries to be happy with what he has.

General History: Gavin was born in a little village not far from the castle in which all the royalty of Telmar lived. It was only two or three miles from his small town. The family lived a poor but happy life. Gavin's father worked with the animals of a neighboring farm and occasionally helped to harvest the crops. When Gavin turned eight, he and his brother, Weylin, went to work on the same farm. They mostly plowed and harvested.

Brom often took his sons into the near-by forest and taught them to hunt, fish, and so on. He basically taught them to live off the land. When Gavin was twelve, he found am injured falcon on one of these trips. Naming it Gawain, He took the bird home and nursed him back to health. He and the bird developed a strong bond and this ignited a strong love of birds in Gavin. He took up a hobby of falconing and discovered he was actually good at it.

One day, when Gavin was eighteen, he was flying Gawain and he caught the attention of some nobles. He was taken to Miraz and the king was fascinated by the falcon. Gavin gained the king?s favor and was hired as a falconer. After a while, Miraz forgot about the falconer and his birds, but he allowed Gavin to keep his job. When the war against the Narnians started, Gavin's falcons were made messengers. Since the birds had only been used for hunting and competitions, Gavin reluctantly agreed to this.
