I couldn't post a new Topic in innactive characters so I think this is where it goes...sorry if it's in the wrong spot.
About You Name: Annie Age: 20 something How did you find us: search engine I believe, known about the site for a while Rules Password: [Password Accepted ~Misha]
Character Basics Full Name: Scout Alias(es)/Nickname(s): Gender: male Age: pre-teen equivalent pup, so...few months? Species: Talking Dog, more specifically smooth Fox Terrier Status/Title:thinking of himself as the local scout for...anything needed Affiliation: Narnia
Character Appearance Hair/Fur/Feathers: black, brown and white Eyes: brown Overall: black and white of the typical Fox Terrier markings, his face has a brown section though along with black markings as well
Portrayal: Avatar picture, though perhaps a bit younger
Character Personality Likes: leaping, exploring, being helpful, being active, humans (nice ones), nice other talking animals too, any kind of interesting tales of old Dislikes: bad humans, sitting still, harsh words or yelling, being called young or too young, in an aventerous sort of way feeling he missed something bugs him too. Strengths: friendly, helpful, energetic in a mission, upbeat, doesn't tire easily Weaknesses: impulsive, stubborn, can't sit still when required, talkative, easily hurt so struggles to forgive.
General Personality:
Scout is a hyperactive ball of energy for useful Narnian functions basically. He is always eager to dart ahead and scout ahead, thinking his name was gifted him for a reason. Along with this, though, he has issues with sitting still or being quiet, and given his best effort will only succeed at such for a short time before breaking. He's also impulsive due to this and prone to darting off before fully hearing what a plan is if said plan is too long and complicated.
When just playing around, Scout's energy stays but he finds he can run playmates off at times due to his boundless energy. On a brighter note to this though, when Pattertwig is excitedly chattering, Scout finds he can still follow most of what the squirrel is saying and doesn't get why others look overwhelmed.
Underneath all this, though, Scout is a pretty sensitive pup, which is why if others are angry or annoyed at his lack of self control he feels it, and he's easily hurt if he feels betrayed and it may be a time before he can forgive the trespass, though for humans or animals he really likes he will try hard.
Character History Family:
Doesn't know much about his family, only knowing his mother his whole life, probably due, though she won't talk about it to him, to his father meeting with some of Miraz soldiers and then not coming back. Also isn't sure if his mother's insisting that yes, he was the only one of her litter, is true since it is a bit odd, but believes her.
General History:
Born in the hollowed out bottom of a tree, almost as any forest animal would be, due to the remnants of Narnia's Talking Beasts being in hiding, Scout has vague recollections, from very young, of his father but nothing too solid and the story throughout the forest is that Miraz's troops got him when he 'didn't have sense enough not to talk!'
Scout's mother tells him that centuries and many mixes of breeds ago, one of their Spaniel ancestors, Trip, was a great help to the Kings and Queens of Old and Scout only hopes he can be such a big help himself!
The pup went on about his normal life, tip toeing possibly too close to where the castle was due to just his curiosity of this evil place he was always hearing about, yet when the young prince from the castle, Caspian, was dropped in their woods, the pup was quick to defend him, seeing this as an opportunity to help a Son of Adam like his ancestors had, and that ingrained dog loyalty to humans probably helping as well.
Due to this, while not fond of him too much before, throughout the fight, he never really liked Nikabrik from the get go and bit the dwarf on more than one occasion. Yet at Trumpkin's defense of him after his death, the pup tried to not be disrespectful, since...yes, all the refugees had been under a great deal of stress and disappointments.
Other/Notes:
Sample RP Sample:
"All this Horn proves is that they've stolen yet another thing from us!" Nikabrik's voice shouted.
The low growl that had been growing in Scout's throat grew even more. His mother was missing this particular meeting, and that was a bad thing for Nikabrik right now...
Not that the pup had been invited to adult affairs, but this was important and he wasn't going to be shunned out just for being young!
Throughout the chaos and shouting, he kept his gaze fixed on first Nikabrik and then the speaker, Prince Caspian, in a wave of distain and...oddly, for the latter, trust the pup couldn't describe. Maybe all those stories of the Kings and Queens of Old had given him false hope on a Son of Adam to follow, any Son of Adam...but no, somehow Scout knew. He couldn't describe it, but he knew, this Telmarine was different.
The fact that he had only been growling at Nikabrik thus far was a miracle, really, and now he did transgress to action. As Nikabrik moved down to confront the prince, and with a short, angry yip, he darted forward. So many in the crowd (of those that even noticed) the dwarf included, expected he was going after Caspian, so despite the nymphs here and there who would move to stop the pup from rash action, no one halted him as he barreled past the prince and made for a flying, lower leg bound, attack on Nikabrick.
He didn't get the satisfaction, some random, interfering creature of the crowd scooped him up with the words, "Be still little one". This, had always been a struggle, and so even while the debate raged on, and beyond the yip of support he gave to Trufflehunter's words of Narnia needing a Son of Adam on the throne, Scout twisted and squirmed until he was put down with a vain trust of his behaving. Seeing that Nikabrik got his comeuppance, though, the pup did behave.
Plus the solemnity of the latter parts of the discussion and pledges was enough to make even an energy ridden terrier pup pause.
