Alright, let's avoid fighting among ourselves. Save those irritations for the battlefield.

I do believe I was well within my rights, making unfounded accusations! And I could have very well hit him with something else if some feathered maiden hadn't snatched away my bow!

...and then the university blew up.  Well, part of it, anyways.  After a magical explosion demolished a portion of Corus’ Royal University, historians and mages alike were delighted to find ruins from the old Thanic empire buried beneath the ground.  Further investigation, however, requires digging into the city itself—an idea that the rest of the community is not particularly thrilled about.  Between this and a rival gang causing trouble for the Rogue, it’s no wonder that many of the civilians are more on edge than usual.

Children have no place in power.  While not technically a child, there are many in Barzun, particularly of the older generation, who feel that King Jeremías is not fit to rule, between his inexperience and the fact that he is systemically replacing the older officials with his closest friends.  The king, however, is distracted by whatever troubles might be brewing within by pains from outside of his kingdom—after a rash of murders and attempted murders on international officials, Their Majesties are left scrambling to placate the foreign rulers.

Political stability is a thing of the past.  Though the people of Carthak, under the guidance of Djimon Akhtar, were able to overthrow the Imperial Family, the priest’s death soon after left a hole that his son is now working to mend.  Unfortunately, members of the nobility, alleged illegitimate sons of the former emperor, and some within the temple of the Hag itself are picking away at the threads, hoping to unravel the tapestry that Djimon so carefully wove, in order to get a piece of the action for themselves.

Time brings changes, but life will always go on in
