General Personality:
Lady Natissa Tescar has a talent for finding the good in people. She’s a great listener, and tries hard to understand others. Because of her empathy for others, she finds it hard to actively dislike anyone. When she does get angry at someone (which happens rarely), she rarely raises her voice. She would rather avoid conflict if possible.  Normally, when she has strong feelings of frustration or anger (normally caused by harm to someone she loves), she will hide behind a calm demeanor to the person who caused it, and then will vent in private later.

Natissa has a quiet inner strength. She is comfortable with herself, and sure of her convictions. Even in the hardest times, she has confidence that things will work out, or at least that life will move on.  Because of this, she is a pillar of emotional and moral support for many around her.

However, despite her convictions, Natissa doesn’t typically take action to right wrongs. She prefers to let things take their course.  For example, while she resents Miraz and wishes for Caspian to be on the throne instead, she is not one for revolution.  Revolution is pointless, and causes more harm than it prevents.  Natissa would never do something she deemed wrong, even if pressed, but she doesn’t often try to actively right the wrongs of others.  Mostly, this is out of fear, but it is also because she doesn’t feel that one older woman can do much at all. However, she will occasionally put in a quiet word to someone she has influence over, such as her son.

Natissa has a bit of a problem with pride. Part of this is a natural outcome of her privilege in life. She is a count’s daughter, and was the wife of the king’s Private Secretary, who had enormous influence.  She also tends to feel she has the moral upper ground on people.  Natissa would never admit her pride, and is all for helping people less fortunate than she is.  However, when anyone does not give her deference she feels she is due, she does feel rather offended.

Character History
Parents: Count Oswyn Pavramorn, Countess Dayla Pavramorn (née Cheyne) (both deceased)
Siblings: Avaline Gamello (deceased), Count Keriell Pavramorn
Husband: Sir Dalred Tescar (deceased)
Child: Sir Adimon Tescar

General History:
Natissa was born to the Count and Countess Pavramorn. She was the youngest of three children. Both her of her older siblings were too old to be playmates to her, and she spent much of her early years playing with the children of the family’s servants.  Eventually, however, as Natissa was educated and trained as a noble woman, servants no longer became acceptable friends.  Natissa was therefore often lonely, but despite that, her life was mainly happy and quiet.

When she was 16, Natissa was sent off to court, like most noble ladies.  Two years later, a marriage was arranged between herself and Sir Dalred Tescar, the son of the current Private Secretary to the king.  It was a match deemed beneficial to both families, and so Natissa made no objection. Besides, she respected Dalred, and knew he was a good man.  Eventually, the two would learn to love each other, though their love was always more quiet than passionate.

Soon after her marriage, Natissa became a Lady-in-Waiting to the wife of Caspian VIII, mainly due to her husband’s future position. The next year, Dalred’s father died of unexpected illness, and Dalred became Private Secretary to the king.  Natissa had been respected before, as both a Lady-in-Waiting and a wife to the next Private Secretary, but suddenly her influence became much greater.  She was now wife to a man who had more influence on the king than anyone else.

At the age of 20, she gave birth to a son, Adimon.  She doted on him, and played an active role in raising him in his early years before others took on his training. And even in those later years, she spent as much time with her son as possible.  To her grief, Natissa never had any more children.  She had one miscarriage after Adimon was born, but was never able to conceive after that. Adimon was therefore her all, and she grew very wary when Miraz began to take him under his wing.

Things were mostly quiet during Caspian VIII’s reign.  When Caspian IX took the throne, however, Natissa’s life began to take a downward turn.  Sir Dalred was killed by “brigands” while running an errand for the king. It soon became apparent that Miraz was behind the death, and Natissa could only watch in horror, unable to do anything, as Miraz consolidated his power. To make things worse, her son, now Caspian IX’s Private Secretary, thought highly of the king’s brother, and worked with him closely. She tried to hint at the real reason behind Dalred’s death, but she didn’t have proof and Adimon, though he still respected her greatly, was too blinded by his regard for Miraz to pay attention to her in this respect.

When Miraz murdered his brother and took the throne, Natissa lost most of her influence in the court. She remained a Lady-in-Waiting, but in a lesser position due to her late husband’s loyalty to the Caspians.  Few wanted to be seen to be too close to her, in case Miraz mistook friendship with her as disloyalty to himself.  Still, she does have influence over her son -- for she is one of the few people he cares about -- and therefore she has an indirect influence on the king. She uses this influence sparingly and very carefully, for Miraz has shown that he will have a woman killed as easily as he would have a man killed. Still, even her weakened influence has still proved beneficial in moderating the king’s actions in a few situations.
