We all know it happens, you've made a character and now you're done with it. Maybe you never really got into the character or like how they turned out. Or maybe you've decided you just have too many characters to properly play them all, and you need to give one up. Whatever the reason, now you're torn between killing a character off or retiring them. Well, how would you like a different option?
Or maybe you want to create a character for your own to interact with, like your character's family members or friends, or something that ties into that wonderful
subplot you created. But between your life, school, work, friends, family and other RPG sites, you just don't have the time. What if there was a way?
Into Narnia is proud to present its Adopt-a-Character Program! This program is going to be a combination of characters that have already been approved through the character application process and new characters that would be original canons. The specific aim is to provide an avenue for characters to be reused by interested members instead of discarded, and for players to pick up a character that would be dedicated to a specific subplot or character.
The actual process is really quite simple. How is this handled? About 99% by you. That's right,
you. Just walk, pad, scamper, fly, slither, or swim you way over to the
Adopt-a-Character forum and follow a few guidelines.
If you have a character you want to put up for adoption instead of retiring, then you should make a post in the
Characters for Adoption topic. Just copy the little form and post it up, and then a staff member will move that character's application over to the Adopt-a-Character forum.
If you have a new character you want created to be a family member, friend or anyone involved in a
subplot of your creation, head on over to the
Original Canons List and copy the little form and post it up. Then post a character application for the original canon in the Adopt-a-Character forum, with as much or as little information as you want to include (try to make it list or bullet-point style, that lets players write the prose themselves).
Players can contact you obtain the permission to take on adopted characters. You may use whatever criteria you wish to give away your characters, but we suggest an RP sample or a mock interaction RP via PM. You could also suggest that players have to make improvements to the character application, but that's all up to you.
Original canons will be handled a bit differently. The character applications of original canons will still need to be reviewed by our staff. Once through there, however, they can join your
subplot in the game or RP interaction with your characters to your heart's desire.
