General Personality: Aranoth (like most minotaur) is a creature of few words. When he does speak it is generally something well thought out and even (most peculiar of all) carrying a gruff sort of wisdom about it. Don't let that throw you though Aranoth is a warrior through and through, talking is for those who can't swing an axe anymore.
Aranoth is fiercely loyal. Long are the stories of the White Witch and her use of the Minotaur and they have sworn never to be used so again. No Minotaur will lay down life or arms for a dictator or outside sovereign again. Minotaur are for themselves and only themselves. It came as a great surprise when Aranoth aligned himself with Caspian but once the warriors mind was made up he would not be dissuaded and remains more than willing to lay down his life for his new Prince.
He is far more open minded than the rest of his people who had become far to steadfast in their ways since the fall of the witch. Aranoth was able to see the difference between servitude and the battle for freedom. Once he saw that Caspian was not demanding service but requesting it. Not asking them to submit but rather giving them a reason to rise up Aranoth's mind was made up.
Character HistoryParents: Not known, Minotaur live in a close tribal society. Children are raised by the village.
Siblings: The village.
General History: Aranoth was born and raised as most Minotaur. The first ten years of his life went by the same of most of his brethren. At 11 however his life took a drastic turn, he began to learn how to fight. All Minotaur are good warriors, Aranoth is great. Faster, quicker, stronger the young Aranoth was a terror in training growing not just in skill but in size by the time he turned twenty Aranoth towered above his lesser brethren and was generally regarded as the next chieftain when the time came.
Than word reached the Villages ears of a young human gathering the old Narnians together. Intrigued but skeptical Aranoth's village elected to attend the meeting and hear the young Prince but remained doubtful. The man's words were good and many of the forest animals joined his ranks but the Minotaur remained separate, they would not be taken in again. The minotaur were for the minotaur and... But what? Aranoth was already down amongst Caspian's soldiers. His massive frame towering above the lesser forest animals that surrounded him. Heated discussions were had that night between the Minotaur but Aranoth would not be dissuaded. This was not servitude he insisted, it was freedom. Some of the Minotaur elected to stay with Aranoth but many returned to the forests confused and undecided, Aranoth remained.
As the war grew closer, Aranoth rose higher and higher through Caspians ranks he and his brethren strong and superior and vastly more trained in combat had been bred for this. His mind made up, his loyalties chosen Aranoth is a fierce and noble warrior prepared to spill his blood for freedom and for Narnia.
Other/Notes: (is there anything else we should know about your character?)
The part about being Caspians body guard is optional, I just thought that if you were going to have a guard why not have a giant half man half bull with a battle ax right?

least There is a story among the Minotaur. Crouching down in the grass outside of the Telmarine lookout post Aranoth's mind wandered to this story. It was said that in the first war ever had in Narnia a just and righteous king was attacked by a horde of enemies. Vastly outnumbered the king and his family fled back into the caves of the castle followed by the angry mob. And just as they were about to be found and killed a great monster appeared to the King and offered to give him the strength he need to defeat his foes. Unthinking the king took the offer unaware of the horrible change that he and his family would have to undergo. When the invading army found the king and his family they were changed, they were stronger and faster and unbeatable in combat. They were Minotaur.
Aranoth stood and walked toward the Telmarine outpost four humans gathered round a fire talking idly. Idiots. They barely heard his approach and by the time three of them stood one of them would never be standing again. By the time two of them had drawn their swords the third was slumping to the ground. The two Telmarines attacked in a rush one from the left one from the right. Aranoth spun to his right his great shield rising to parry the blow from the bearded Telmarine with so much force that the man was sent stumbling away. At the same time his ax slammed into the other soldier sending his body flying into the darkness. The bearded Telmarine was still trying to recover and by the time he turned to face Aranoth the Minotaurs ax was already swinging. The man made an attempt to parry but the ax was too heavy and the arm wielding it too strong. He gave a gasp as the ax hit him, than slumped to the ground.
Aranoth snorted impatiently. Hardly worth his time. The Minotaur extinguished the fire collected the Telmarine weapons (always a valuable commodity in the Narnian army) and melted back into the darkness of the woods. Aranoth wondered sometimes about that story, wondered if the Minotaur had been created as a last effort to save a failing kingdom or perhaps as a last effort to destroy one. The latter seemed more likely. But such things mattered little to Aranoth, the past was the past. Whether his people had been created to destroy or to save there was work to be done now. The work of freedom.
